■ 순방의 성과가 국민의 삶과 기업의 경쟁력으로 이어지도록 뒷받침하겠습니다

이재명 대통령이 5박 7일간의 유엔총회 참석과 멕시코 국빈 방문을 마치고 귀국했습니다. 

이 대통령은 유엔총회에서 대화와 협력을 통한 한반도 평화공존의 비전을 제시하며 그 의지를 국제사회에 분명히 했습니다. 미국과는 정상 간 신뢰를 재확인하며 안보와 산업 협력의 후속 동력을 확보했고, 멕시코와는 오랜 경제 현안을 매듭지으며 중남미 시장으로 나아갈 발판을 마련했습니다. 

평화 구상과 동맹 협력, 시장 개척이 한 번의 순방 안에서 맞물리며, 안보는 평화로, 외교는 국익으로, 경제는 새로운 시장으로 잇는 실용외교가 손에 잡히는 결과로 입증되었습니다.

외교는 합의에서 시작해 이행으로 완성됩니다. 더불어민주당은 이번 순방의 성과가 국민의 삶과 기업의 경쟁력으로 이어지도록 뒷받침하겠습니다.

우선 한-멕시코 투자보장협정 개정 등 국회의 역할이 필요한 사안은 정부와 긴밀히 협의해 신속하고 책임 있게 처리하겠습니다. 한미 간 전작권 전환과 조선·원자력 분야 등 후속 협의도 국회 차원에서 꼼꼼히 살피겠습니다. 아울러 첨단산업과 방산, 공급망 분야에서 해외 시장을 개척하는 우리 기업을 위해 현장의 목소리를 듣고 필요한 제도 개선에 나서겠습니다.

이번 순방의 결실이 온전히 국민께 돌아가도록 국민의힘도 초당적 협력에 함께해 주시기 바랍니다. 

■ Turning the President's Diplomatic Achievements into Better Lives and Stronger Businesses

President Lee Jae-myung has returned from a seven-day trip to attend the United Nations General Assembly and pay a state visit to Mexico. 

At the UN General Assembly, President Lee presented a vision of peaceful coexistence on the Korean Peninsula through dialogue and cooperation, making clear Korea's commitment to that goal before the international community. With the United States, the two leaders reaffirmed their mutual trust and secured momentum for follow-up cooperation on security and industry. With Mexico, long-standing economic issues were resolved, laying the groundwork for expansion into Latin American markets. 

By bringing together a peace initiative, alliance cooperation and new market development in a single trip, this visit demonstrated through tangible results a pragmatic diplomacy that links security to peace, diplomacy to national interest, and the economy to new markets.

Diplomacy begins with agreements and is completed through implementation. The Democratic Party of Korea will work to ensure that the results of this trip improve people's lives and strengthen the competitiveness of Korean businesses.

First, on matters that require the National Assembly's role, such as the revision of the Korea-Mexico Bilateral Investment Treaty, we will work closely with the government to handle them promptly and responsibly. We will also closely review follow-up consultations between Korea and the United States, including the OPCON transition and cooperation in shipbuilding and nuclear energy. In addition, we will listen to Korean companies expanding into overseas markets in advanced industries, defense and supply chains, and pursue the institutional improvements they need.
